Microprocessor Reset

 Is there a quick way to reset a scanner so that I don't have to clear
out every memory channel manually?

Yes, most manufacturers have a factory reset procedure. Most Uniden products, including those private-labeled for Radio Shack, can have all memory contents erased by the following procedure With the scanner power switch off, press and hold the MAN(ual), 2, and 9 keys and switch on the power; release the keys. Within a few seconds that scanner will re-initialize, showing channel 1 as all zeroes. To re-load the factory test frequencies, do the same procedure using SCAN, 2, and 9.

Look for your unit and follow directions.

Alinco DJX-10: Hold down "Function" button while turning the unit on. Release, after the unit comes on. Move arrow/cursor down to all and press the "ENT" key.

AOR 3000A: Memory Clear: Turn power off. Press and hold the "3" and the "6" keys. Power the unit on and release the keys. Unit will power up with factory defaults. Total Microprocessor Reset (internal): Switch power off and disconnect the power supply. Remove the bottom and top covers. Reconnect the power supply. Switch power on. Press the gray reset button located on the reverse of the keyboard in the top right hand corner (next to the computer baud rate slide switch). Receiver will power up with factory defaults. Switch unit off and remove the power supply. Reassemble the case and reconnect the power supply.

AOR 5000: CPU Reset: Turn the unit on. The reset switch is located behind the torque lever to the right of the main dial. Move the lever to the downward position, a black cloth covers the slot. The rest switch is located at the top of the slot about 10mm behind the front panel. Press and release the reset switch. The display will blink, the set will power up and resume normal operation. CPU Soft Reset: Turn the unit off. Press and hold the "Clear" key while turning the unit on. The clock will be displayed, wait for the default frequency {128.900 MHz}/text display to appear then release the "Clear" key.

AOR 8000: Switch the receiver off. Press and hold the "Clear" key while switching the receiver on. Memory contents will be retained, everything else will be reset. OR TRY: Disconnect all connections and peripherals (antennas, recorders, etc). Switch the receiver off and remove one battery out for 1 minute. Put the battery back in and switch on.

AOR 8200 & 8200II B: Switch the receiver off. Press and hold the "Clear" key while switching the receiver on. Memory contents will be retained, everything else will be reset. OR TRY: Disconnect all connections and peripherals (antennas, recorders, etc). Switch the receiver off and remove one battery out for 1 minute. Put the battery back in and switch on

AOR 8600: Soft Reset: Power up radio while pressing "Clear" key. Do not release the "Clear" key until the opening message has performed and 88.000 MHz is displayed in 2VFO mode. Memory and search bank will be intact, everything else will be reset to factory.  Memory Bank Delete: Press "Function". While it is blinking, press "9" and "2". Follow instructions.

ICOM Q7: Turn unit off. Press "Function", "Band", and "V/M". Turn power on. Clear will appear on the display.

ICOM R2: Turn unit off. Press "Function", "Band", and "V/M". Turn power on. Clear will appear on the display.

ICOM R3: Turn unit off. Press "Function", "V/M" "Mode". Turn power on. Clear will appear on the display.

ICOM R10: Turn power off. Press "CLR" press power on. Rotate dial to select "Yes", then press enter.

ICOM R75: Press and hold "UP" and "DN" keys while powering  unit on.

ICOM R100: Turn power off. Press and hold  "Function" and "Enter" while turning the unit on.

ICOM R8500: Turn unit off. Press and hold  "MW" while powering up the unit.

PRO 28: Turn off the scanner. While you hold down the "2" and "9" keys, turn on the scanner.

PRO 29:Turn off the scanner. While you hold down the "2" and "9" keys, turn on the scanner.

PRO 43: While holding down "CLEAR" and "O". Turn the power on.

PRO 62: Turn unit on. Press "Clear & Hold", press "Reset", until display blinks. Do not release "Clear" until display re-appears.

PRO 64: Turn off the scanner, then turn it on again. Press the "Clear" button and hold. Insert a pointed object, such as a straightened paper clip, into the reset opening on the side of the scanner and gently press then release the reset button inside the opening. Release the "Clear" button.

PRO 67: Turn off the scanner. While you hold down the "2" and "9" keys, turn on the scanner.

PRO 72: Turn off the scanner, then turn it on again. Insert a pointed object, such as a straightened paper clip, into the reset opening on the side of the scanner and gently press then release the reset button inside the opening.

PRO 74: Turn off the scanner. While you hold down the "2" and "9" keys, turn on the scanner.

PRO 89: Turn off scanner. Turn on. Hold down "Mon/Clear" key, while holding, press and release the reset on the side of the scanner. Release "Mon/Clear" after the display blinks.

PRO 91: Turn off the scanner. While you hold down the "2" and "9" keys, turn on the scanner. CLEAR flashes for about 5 seconds as the scanner clears its memory.

PRO 92: Turn unit off. Press "0" then "1" while display shows "Welcome to Multi-System Trunking". Then, "Initializing Please Wait" appears on the display about 25 seconds. Do not turn off until the "Welcome" message re-appears.

PRO 94: Turn the unit off. Hold down "2" and "9" keys while turning the unit on. Clear flashes on the display for 5 seconds.

PRO 2006: Turn the scanner on. Press and hold the "Clear" key. Press and release "Restart" on the back panel. When the display blinks release the "Clear" key.

PRO 2026: Turn off the scanner. While you press and hold down "2" and "9", turn on the scanner.

PRO 2042: Turn off the scanner, then turn it on again. Press the "Clear" button and hold. Insert a pointed object, such as a straightened paper clip, into the reset opening on the side of the scanner and gently press then release the reset button inside the opening. Release the "Clear" button.

PRO 2046:  Turn off the scanner. While you press and hold down "2" and "9", turn on the scanner.

PRO 2066: Turn off the scanner. While you press and hold down "2" and "9", turn on the scanner.. Clear flashes for about 8 seconds as the scanner clears its memory.

PRO 2067: Turn unit on. While the welcome message is displayed, press "0" then "1". Wait 25 seconds until the welcome message re-appears.

RELM HS200: One channel at a time: Select the channel while in Manual mode and press "CLR". The display will show "del. ch?" for 1 second. During this time press "Ent" and the channel will be deleted from memory.
