Manual Error:
On page 54 of the BC245XLT Owner's Manual, it describes how to select a scan
list location in which to store an ID during Search Mode. This is in
contrast to letting the scanner automatically select the next empty ID
memory slot to store it in. The procedure the manual lists is incorrect. The
correct procedure is as follows:
Before you even start in Search Mode, hit MAN. Then using either MAN or the
up/down arrow buttons, go to the scan list channel that YOU WANT to program
the next ID in, whether this channel is empty or not. Then hit SRCH and when
you find an ID you want to store, hit HOLD. Then, hit E. The scanner will
indicate that it is stored in the ID channel you had chosen. If you then
want to get another channel ready to store an ID in, go to that channel
again using the MAN or up/down arrow buttons. Then go back to Search Mode by
hitting SRCH and when you find an ID you want to store, hit HOLD, and then
hit E.
The procedure the Owner's Manual lists will not work at all.
