X and Y dimensions are the same as the BCD996T/BCT15. Z (depth) will be about 2 inches and the power/data jacks are on the back. There will be a jack for firmware updates that faces downward. There are channels on the back for routing the wires.
Uniden Update: the RH96 does not control power to the scanner -
even though the volume has "off" detent.
If the 996 is not powered up, you get a "scanner not connected" error message.
When you turn off the RH96
using the Vol control, it displays a message
telling you that you should turn off the scanner separately.
Uniden suggests the 996 should be connected to the ignition.
Lack of power control removes the Quick Start option (to select
what's scanned at power up).
