Maryland State Police freq list

Mike Agner <ka3jjz@erols.com>

The standard PL MSP uses is 110.9 u.o.s in brackets. The PL
info is from Scanner Master.

MSP underwent a major revision of their frequency/channel pairings
a few years back, when the Baltimore County lo-band system was
pretty much abandoned when their 800 mhz system was installed. So
anyone that was monitoring the county for awhile will recognize some
of these frequencies:

39.10 several locations A1 Statewide F1 [none]
39.26 KGB 744 A2
39.24 same B4 [146.2]
39.62 KGB 744 B16 Pikesville
39.34 KGB 744 B15 Pikesville [127.3]

Washington Metro Troop:

39.30 KGH 654 A10 Barrack L/Forestville
39.32 KGE 796 A9 Barrack N/Rockville
39.26 KSU 469 Barrack Q/College Park

Baltimore Metro Troop:

39.14 KGF 986 B9 Barrack J/Annapolis
39.04 KBT 576 B10 Barrack P/Glen Burnie
39.44 KGN 485 B14 Barrack R/Golden Ring
39.56 used to tie Md.State Police to Baltimore
        County Sheriffs- especially useful during
heavy snowstorms, riots, jail breaks, etc.
Northeast Troop:

39.32 KGA 919 B12 Barrack D/Bel Air
39.84 KGG 903 B11 Barrack F/North East
39.24 KIL 718 B13 Barrack M/JFK Highway/Perryville [127.3]

Central Troop:

39.42 KGA 915 A8 Barrack A/Waterloo
39.40 KGA 918 A6 Barrack B/Frederick
39.52 KGA 917 A7 Barrack G/Westminster

As Gary McGinnis and Bob Hale reminds us, MSP patrols in Carroll
county, so the Westminister barracks are echoed on their 800
Mhz system. So from time to time, you will see MSP vehicles
with the tell-tale 'cell phone' looking antennas. Of course,
they do also use cell phones from time to time. I'm not sure
whether all transmissions on 39.52 are echoed, however.
Lindsay Blanton's web site has a good listing of talkgroups
for the Carroll county system.

Southern Troop:

39.06 KGA 916 A11 Barrack H/Waldorf
39.38 KGD 716 A12 Barrack T/Leonardtown
39.28 KGD 979 A13 Barrack U/Prince Frederick

Eastern Troop:

39.78 KGA 913 B6 Barrack E/Salisbury
39.96 KGA 912 B7 Barrack I/Easton

Detachment/Cambridge

Detachment/Denton

39.80 KGD 631 B8 Barrack S/Centerville

Detachment/Chestertown

39.60 KZT 386 B5 Barrack V/Berlin

Detachment/Princess Anne

Western Troop:

39.24 KGA 910 A4 Barrack C/Cumberland
39.34 KGA 914 A5 Barrack O/Hagerstown
39.08 KGA 910 A3 Barrack W/McHenry

Other Frequencies:

39.66 Criminal Investigation Division (CID) [?]
44.74 MSP Medevacs (SYSCOM) **
You can also hear locator data bursts here that evidently
can be read with a good packet TNC
47.66 MSP Medevacs (patient status to hospitals)
The freqs listed to MSP Marine (39.20 and 39.22) were transferred
to the DNR some years back. This was reported on my Listening Post net by
Terry Turchin WA3DZZ. Thanx also go to Shawn Crossland who
verified some of these.
