WiNRADiO WR-DNC-3500 Downconverter

The WiNRADiO WR-DNC-3500 Frequency Down converter is especially suitable for use with WiNRADiO G3 series VHF/UHF receivers, such as the WR-G305i and WR-G305e receivers.

Unlike most low-cost down converters, the WiNRADiO WR-DNC-3500 down converter features a high-stability 0.5ppm reference oscillator, to ensure excellent frequency stability at the output.

WiNRADiO WR-DNC-3500 Downconverter Features
Input frequency range 1700 to 3500 MHz
Output frequency range DC to 1800 MHz
 High stability
 Low noise figure
 High IP3
Dual power (external or via coax)
 Rugged weatherproof construction
 Simple installation

Installation

WR-DNC-3500 Downconverter Installation The down converter is connected to the antenna and the receiver via an SMA connector and a suitable low-loss coaxial cable. In this installation option the power is applied directly to the down converter. We recommend using a well-filtered power, preferably that of a linear power supply, such as WiNRADiO WR-LPS-12200.

WR-DNC-3500 Downconverter Installation Alternatively, the down converter can be placed closer to the antenna and powered via the coaxial cable. On the receiver side, the power can be injected via WiNRADiO WR-BT-1201 "Bias T" device. This would be a preferred option to minimize losses in the cable if the antenna is located at a greater distance from the receiver.

This is a separate item which the user can install himself. It can be also used with other third-party products (not necessarily WiNRADiO receivers), to extend their frequency range up to 3.5 GHz:

The DNC-3500 is a simple down-converter with no receiver control; it is placed between the antenna and any receiver antenna input. If used with the G305 or G315 receiver, set the top bar option “Set Display Offset” to 1700 MHz for direct readout of the received frequency. For any other receiver, the received frequency must be calculated by adding 1700 MHz to your receiver’s dial display.
