FAQ
Q. Does the AR8600MKII have a user selectable bandwidth of
30-40kHz? I would like to receive APT / NOAA15-17 satellite data.
A. No, none of the scanners has this bandwidth because they
are all intended for narrow-band speech or wide-band music reception, not the
mid-width
requirements for satellite data.
However, the birds are still quite receivable
with the narrower bandwidth, partly because the skirts of the filters are only
mediocre, and partly because only the finest resolution will be missing from the
skirts that are there.
