The AR-STV is a
wireless camera receiver designed to
detect wireless video surveillance cameras. With its 2.5 inch color LCD display,
still picture recorder and sensor that captures video signals in real-time, the
AR-STV is a valuable addition to any security operation. Its built-in clock
allows images to be time stamped and an optional 4 GB SD memory card can be used
to store up to nearly 2000 images.
Receives and displays analog video signals on L-band (1.2 GHz)
or S-band (2.4 GHz)

FAQ
Q: How can you improve the range of the AR-STV? Would any special antennae or
signal amplifier be applicable or helpful?
I am an old customer of yours and I would appreciate your input on this. Thank
you very much. Myles.
A: Hi, Myles:
You're on the right track. The STV may be thought of like any other UHF
receiver.
By increasing the gain of an antenna, or placing a preamplifier
between the antenna and the receiver, you will increase range.
Be sure the antenna and/or preamplifier is/are designed for the proper
frequency coverage (900-2800 MHz). For a preamp, both the WiNRADiO LNA-3500:
http://www.grove-ent.com/LNA3500.html and the
AOR LN4000:
http://www.grove-ent.com/arln4000.html should handle this
successfully.
So far as an antenna, UHF antenna gain and a preamplifier are combined in the
WiNRADiO planar log-periodic AX-37A:
http://www.grove-ent.com/AX37A.html and the same antenna in a weatherproof enclosure:
http://www.grove-ent.com/product429.html
At lower cost and slightly lower gain, try WiNRADiO's
http://www.grove-ent.com/wrax31c.html
I hope this helps,
Bob
