The log-periodic dipole array
(LPDA)
is respected for its wide bandwidth, constant impedance, and high gain. Measuring
4' 10" boom length, the Create CLP-5130-2N offers 105~1300 MHz bandwidth for transmitting and receiving, with an average forward gain of
11~13 dBi. Ruggedly constructed of solid
aluminum for lightweight durability.
Transmit gain: Same as reception gain. 11-13 dBi (about 9-11 dBd) from
50-1300 MHz.
Range: Depends upon frequency, height, length and type of coax, mode and
bandwidth, power of transmitter,
amount of background hiss you are willing to tolerate, weather, and terrain.
As a rule with most VHF equipment, figure 50-75 miles for VHF and 25-50
miles for UHF.
Fitted with an N connector for low-loss coax.
